The national "I Have A Dream" Foundation, based in New York City, supports a network of 35 affiliates across the country. The primary role of the national "I Have A Dream" Foundation is to maximize the collective impact of the "I Have A Dream" network, operating in the areas below:
Sets Overarching Direction
The national Foundation develops the overarching vision, goals, and strategy for the "I Have A Dream" network to ensure that we are having the greatest possible impact at both the affiliate and the national level.
Leads New Site Expansion The national Foundation guides expansion of the "I Have A Dream" program, working with individuals, organizations, and local affiliates to identify new communities where we can operate thriving "I Have A Dream" programs. The national staff works closely with supporters at the local level to organize and launch new programs in these sites.
Maximizes Network Performance The national Foundation supports affiliates in the effort to grow their impact and ensure sustainability over time. Services provided to local "I Have A Dream" programs by the national Foundation include:

Producing standardized materials and resources for all affiliates to access

Providing training, technical support, and professional development in the areas of program, development, public relations, and operations

Builds Our Brand and Visibility The national Foundation serves as the network's main outreach arm, representing "I Have A Dream" to the media, to other organizations, and to the public. The national Foundation works proactively to raise the overall visibility of "I Have A Dream".
Forges National Partnerships The national Foundation builds partnerships with corporations, foundations, government agencies, and other education and youth development organizations to support our efforts at both the affiliate and the national level, and to enable us to provide enhanced programming and services to Dreamers.
Brings Together Dreamers for Learning and Leadership The national Foundation hosts various events to support Dreamers and bring together Dreamers from across the country, including National Dreamer Service Day and the National Dreamer Conference.
